The “Improving Food Safety of Pork Supply Chain in China” project, founded by the Walmart Foundation and sponsored by  Walmart Food Safety Collaboration Center (WFSCC), aims at improving human life and community service. Making people’s life better is a forever mission of Walmart Foundation. They support and invest in communities through local giving, encouraging volunteerism, and through programs to strengthen community cohesion. The Walmart groups focus on areas where they can do the best - combining the unique strengths of the business alongside our philanthropy. Their ability to draw on Walmart business strengths, providing more than just funding, helps our philanthropy to deliver greater societal impact. Today, Walmart.org, through the combined philanthropic efforts of both Walmart and the Walmart Foundation, creates opportunities for people to live better every day.

In 2014, Walmart and the Walmart Foundation generally provide more than $1.4 billion in cash and in-kind to support programs globally that align with our philanthropic priorities. Meanwhile, they seek to create value in the communities around the world where they operate, strengthening them through local grants supporting programs that help them thrive.

The Walmart project strive to improve the food safety all around the world. The Food Safety Knowledge Hub provides important, science-backed information and training materials to advance food safety knowledge in the China food industry and global food supply chains.

The Hub is powered by the  Walmart Food Safety Collaboration Center (WFSCC), which was officially launched by Walmart in October 2016 in Beijing. Committed to becoming a leader in China's food safety, the WFSCC actively cooperates with universities, industry associations, enterprises, and government, bringing together leading researchers, scholars, and innovators from China and around the world to share their experience and expertise to accelerate food safety development in China.

The “Improving Food Safety of Pork Supply Chain in China” project also provide an education platform spreading Children’s food safety knowledge to the public. The Walmart foundation highlight the role of culture in food safety and encourage everyone to browse the website and behave accordingly to contribute to food safety public utilities.
Lastly, we believe the collaboration between the public and private sectors greatly influences Food safety policy. The establishment of Sam Walton Chair on Food Safety Law at the Renmin University of China aims at working with the government closely on the future amendment of Food safety policy. The Walmart Foundation welcome all constructive suggestion and active participation from all parties regarding the Food Safety policy execution.
